Bronchitis, Upper Respiratory Infections (URI's) and Lower Respiratory Infections (LRI's) are a major problem among the elderly and very young.

Over the past several years URI's and LRI's have been increasing and causing more life threatening conditions as various viruses, including the RSV virus, have become more prominent and as antibiotics and other treatments by medical doctors are failing.

The formula is an electro-potency of several homeopathic remedies designed to deal with the infectious process while producing a productive cough and rapid resolution of the problems.

BRONCHITIS

Bronchitis is an inflammation of the bronchial tubes, or bronchi (the air passages that extend from the windpipe into the lungs). The inflammation may be caused by a virus, bacteria, smoking or the inhalation of chemical pollutants or dust. When the cells of the bronchial-lining tissue are irritated beyond a certain point, the tiny hairs (cilia) within them, which normally trap and eliminate pollutants, stop functioning. Consequently, the air passages become clogged by debris and irritation increases. In response, a heavy secretion of mucus develops, which causes the characteristic cough of bronchitis.

UPPER RESPIRATORY INFECTIONS

There are many different types of upper respiratory infections, including: the common cold, usually due to a virus; the flu, or influenza virus infection, which causes more severe symptoms than a cold; acute sinusitis or chronic sinusitis, which involve the nasal sinuses; otitis externa, or infection of the outer ear; acute otitis media, or infection of the middle ear behind the eardrum; pharyngitis, or sore throat; acute bronchitis, an infection in the lower windpipes; croup, which is a viral infection of the main windpipe that is usually only seen in children; epiglottitis, a bacterial infection of the main windpipe that is more commonly seen in children.

Other types of URI may also occur, but they are less common.

LOWER RESPIRATORY INFECTIONS

Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is a major cause of respiratory illness in young children. RSV infection produces a variety of signs and symptoms involving different areas of the respiratory tract, from the nose to the lungs.

In adults and children older than 3 years, RSV usually causes symptoms of a simple upper respiratory tract illness or common cold. These symptoms include a stuffy or runny nose, sore throat, mild headache, mild cough, low-grade fever, and a general feeling of being ill.

In children younger than age 3, RSV can cause a lower respiratory tract illness like bronchiolitis or pneumonia and in more severe cases can lead to respiratory failure.

Bronchi-Quest can be used in conjunction with any of the other Life Quest products.

Contains 6X electro-potencies of:

Bryonia alba - indicated in chronic infection of the bronchials accompanied by a dry cough and chest pain. Treats a dry, hard cough accompanied by stabbing chest pains, as well as bronchitis and pneumonia.

Coccus - Helps calm bronchial conditions including gspastic, suffocating coughs common to asthma. Contains carminic acid, a non-toxic disinfectant that works well against asthma, bronchitis and whooping cough.

Guajacum - Address pus-producing infectious conditions affecting the bronchial passages.

Grindelia - Helps breathing problems such as wheezing and promotes excretion of mucus. Indicated for bronchial asthma, chronic bronchitis and whooping cough, in which the patient cannot breathe properly while lying.

Capisum - Helps increase blood flow to aid in detoxification, treats infection of the bronchial passageways and feelings of general exhaustion.

Sanicula - Indicated in infections of the paranasal cavities.

Cinnabaris - Indicated in acute and subacute inflammation of the paranasal sinuses, including chronic rhinitis and sinusitis without symptoms. Helps the body resume proper excretion.
